Sculptural wall lamp Shogun, designed by Mario Botta for Artemide, Italy, 1986.
The Postmodern Swiss architect and designer Mario Botta is renowned for his use of striking geometric forms. The Shogun lamp reflects his intent for lighting to create atmosphere through its use of shadows. With its manipulable perforated shade, the Shogun wall lamp can be tilted to cast a spectrum of intricate shadows on surrounding walls.
The lamp is made of white lacquered metal, and is an early production of 1986. This wall lamp is in beautiful vintage condition, with very few visible signs of usage, consistent with age.
