Large Olympe lamp designed by the Guzzini brothers, produced by ED, 1970s. It is composed of elegant geometric volumes combined with semi-opaque plastic panels creating a very soft and diffused warm light. This desk or wall lamp version of Olympe is equipped with a front switch and a practical opening at its back side to reach the bulb.
The object is in overall good vintage condition with a beautiful slight patina. There is a chip to the white coating on the bottom edge of the front, almost invisible when standing on a table. It has been sourced from the library of an old monastery in central Germany.
The Guzzini brothers were the founders of the Italian design brand of the same name specializing in the production of plastic household objects. Guzzini/Harveyluce was the lighting division, inaugurated in 1974 and initially named after Harvey Guzzini.
