Iconic Paraplu lamp designed by Gijs Bakker, manufactured by Artimeta, Holland, 1973. Taking its cue from photography umbrellas, the lamp’s form is voluminous, yet airy: the base consists of five rods that give way into a wider umbrella shade.
The reflecting lamp is suspended just below the shade, giving a diffuse and warm light. Like an umbrella, the lamp is collapsible and expansive when open. Its design is mocking and playful: a defiant classic that doesn't compromise on clever construction.
Chrome plated wire and rayon fabric. The Paraplu lamp is in beautiful vintage condition with signs of wear consistent with age and works perfectly.
The lamp uses an E27 reflector bulb up to 150 watt.

Iconic Paraplu floor lamp designed by Gijs Bakker and manufactured by Artimeta, Netherlands 1973. Bakker was inspired by the type of lamp that photographers use. The five ribs continue as the five rods of the stand.
The reflecting lamp is suspended in an edge added in-between; the entire lamp is collapsible. It is a recalcitrant, mocking and at the same time functional and soundly constructed design.
The frame is made of chrome plated wire and the shade is made of fabric. The lamp is in beautiful vintage condition with signs of wear consistent with age and works perfectly.
The Paraplu lamp uses and E27 reflector bulb up to 150 watt.
