Swing Armchair, Herbert & Jutta Ohl, Rosenthal, 1982
Steel, 81×45×53 cm
750 Euro
The Swing Chair was designed by Herbert and Jutta Ohl in 1982, for the German manufacturer Rosenthal Lübke. This exceptional design is characterized by clear lines and striking geometry. The seat is entirely made of steel rods, concentric and independent from one another, ensuring that the seat bends and adapts naturally to the user’s weight.
The Swing Chair is also available as a pair, both of which are in great condition, albeit with a few usage marks consistent with their age.
Herbert Ohl was a particularly active German architect and designer in the second half of the 20th century. Before becoming head of the prestigious university HfG Ulm, he worked with Egon Eiermann. After moving to Milan, he renovated La Rinasecente shopping centres together with Gino Valle.
Jutta Ohl was a German painter, sculptor and designer. The Swing collection proposed for Rosenthal was strongly influenced by her creative sensibility, which gave life to a furnishing system that included two types of chairs and a table.
