The B3 Wassily chair by Marcel Breuer is an icon of design history. This beautiful version was produced in the 1960s by Italian furniture producer Gavina. This rare off-white fabric version of the chair is exceptionally clean for its age and of very high, sturdy quality.
The set of 3 chairs is marked and in beautiful vintage condition. Available for hire only.
After an apprenticeship as a carpenter at the Bauhaus Weimar, Marcel Breuer worked for several years in the office of Walter Gropius. His designs, including the Wassily chair and the B33, are among the most famous of the Bauhaus era.
Gavina was an early producer of work by many influential Italian modernists, including the Castiglioni brothers, Carlo and Tobia Scarpa, Vico Magistretti and Mario Bellini.
Gavina also held the rights to some of the most important works of Marcel Breuer including the Cesca, Wassily, and Laccio chairs and tables.
