Wooden Stool, Herbert & Jutta Ohl, Rosenthal, 1982
Clay, 45×53×81 cm
120ƒEuro
The Swing chair was designed by Herbert and Jutta Ohl in 1982 for german manifacturer Rosenthal Lübke. The exceptionally light design is characterized by clear lines and geometry. The seat is entirely made of steel rods, concentric and independent from each other, to ensure the seat bends and adapts naturally under the user's weight.
The pair of black Swing chairs is in great condition with few usage marks consistent with age.
Herbert Ohl was a particularly active German architect and designer in the second half of the 20th century. Before becoming head of the prestigous university HfG Ulm, he worked with Egon Eiermann. After moving to Milan, he renovated LaRinascente shopping centres together with Gino Valle.
Jutta Ohl was a German painter, sculptress and designer. The Swing collection proposed for Rosenthal was strongly influenced by her creative sensibility, which gave life to a furnishing system that included two types of chairs and a table.
