Ingo Maurer Style Cork Lamp, Germany, 1980s
Cork, Wood, 35×35×52 cm
This beautiful square cork lamp was made by an unkown German craftsman in the style of the manufacturer Design M. It is reminiscent of the Zanotl table lamp designed by Wilhelm Zanoth and Ingo Maurer in 1974.
The extraordinary use of cork sheeting and it’s simple geometric square shape make this medium sized table lamp a real sculptural object. It is constructed from a wooden base and acrylic lamp shade, all finely covered in an extravagantly textured cork veneer.
The lamp is in excellent vintage condition, with original wiring and minimal signs of wear.
